Call for Submissions: A Family Travel Anthology
I’m delighted to announce that I’ll be editing a new travel anthology ‘A Gelato a Day Keeps the Tantrums Away’ on the theme of family travel. The book will be published by Guernica Editions in Canada.
This anthology is meant to be an inspiring compilation of narrative travel stories that involve true and authentic family travel tales.
The SUBMISSION DEADLINE IS OCTOBER 31, 2020, and the anthology will come out in the fall of 2022. Please find all the guidelines below.
Submission Guidelines
Please send me your best true stories about the good, the bad and the ugly about the family travel experience for this anthology. We’re looking for stories that are adventurous, mysterious, funny, poignant, transformational, cross-cultural, educational, illuminating, silly. You get the picture.
Stories should be of a narrative nature and reflect the wonders, surprises, pitfalls and hilarious moments that can occur when travelling with family members of all shapes, sizes, types and styles. Stories can take place anywhere in the world.
Multiple submissions are acceptable.
Contributors should be Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada.

Length and Story Type
Stories should be between 2,000-4,000 words. Essays should be of a narrative nature and must include elements of a family travel experience of significance in your life.
Previously published stories are okay, provided you control rights to that story.
Remuneration
A $100 honorarium, one free copy of the book, and the right to purchase an unlimited number of the book at 40% off the cover price (plus shipping and handling).

Rights
Permission to reprint parts of the works in the anthology will rest with the editor, the participants and the publisher. No other publisher can reprint parts or all of this work without written consent of the publisher.
Caveat
The editor will have the right to do some editing of accepted stories for considerations of style, grammar or length and may also alter the story title. Due to the number of submissions received, we will only contact those whose submission is chosen for the anthology. All authors whose stories have been accepted will be notified towards the end of the editorial process.
